The weekend of July 27, 2001, John and I, along with some of my Garage.com colleagues, will participate in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day, a very special and powerful event in the fight against breast cancer.

John and I will both walk 60 miles – 20 miles each day for three days – from San Jose to San Francisco with more than 3,000 other dedicated people to raise awareness and money for breast cancer. The proceeds from the event will support medical research and non-profit breast cancer health programs across the country.

This walk has deep personal meaning for me. I have a close college friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after graduation. She has been through numerous surgeries, rounds of chemotherapy, and radiation. She continues to battle the cancer, and yet her strength, as well as her zest for life, seems unwavering. I hope that by participating in the walk and helping raise money for research and treatment, I can show my support for her and the other friends and family we all have who are fighting breast cancer.

John and I have each agreed to raise at least $2,000 in pledges before June. So we need your help.
